Explores the life, history, and biblical narrative of Abraham
and his sons. What made them such great personalities in their
time, and how did they relate to each other and the burgeoning
concept of One God?
Letters, notes and memos from and to Abraham, as well as all
the main characters of his generation, give the biblical episodes
a "first person" feel that puts the reader into the
mind of the characters. Rabbinic lore becomes part of the biblical
text in order to weave a wonderful story out of the missing years
of Abraham's life, a story which presents a fuller picture of
the life of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael than can be found anywhere.
Rabbi Seymour
M. Panitz devoted nearly half a century to the American
Rabbinate, and served on the Rabbinical Assembly Committee
on Jewish Law and Standards, as well as the National Association
of Jewish Chaplains.
