These in-depth essays touch upon the very heart of Orthodox Judaism.
They include:
- Understanding of the paradox of prayer
- Response to the missionary menace
- The search for the additional stanza of maoz tzur
- Laws concerning davening and talking in synagogue
- Instructions on how to run a minyan
- Gematria systems
And much, much more.
Beginning in 1985, Martin Stern
became involved in defending Torah Judaism in the more secular
Anglo-Jewish press, as well as developing an interest in liturgical
and social problems affecting the Jewish community. In more recent
years, he has used his epistolary skills to defend Israel against
its detractors, both in the more secular Anglo-Jewish and general
non-Jewish press. He is well-known for his forthright approach
and refusal to bow to political correctness of any kind.
