Through My Window
Israel Through the Eyes of an Immigrant
by
Pamela Neilson

Some people say that moving to a foreign country is like going
on a honeymoon - it starts out romantic and then reality slowly
sets in. In the case of the Neilsons, when the plane landed, the
honeymoon was put on hold and real life bombarded them. But the
romance is not the marriage: the marriage is made up of love,
commitment, and sacrifice. These are the things that this extraordinary
family holds onto when the going gets tough. These are the things
that make a marriage strong. These are also the things that make
the Land of Israel strong.
The stories in the pages of this book are honest, sometimes funny,
and often heart-wrenching. The strength and resolve of the Neilson
family during unbearable and unimaginable moments is captured
in individual stories of overcoming the challenges placed before
them: from shattered Olympic dreams and burying friends and comrades
during war, to finding one's roots and a renewed love for Eretz
Yisrael.
